Permissions - What are you afraid of?
Jun. 28th, 2021 09:05 pmWhen your character is around the pollen of the special flowers that Donna cultivates, Donna herself can emit an airborne substance that reacts with it, making you hallucinate. Usually, these hallucinations will at first be something welcoming to draw you in, then turn into manifestations of your deepest, darkest fears.
As a general rule, Donna is not a malicious person and will not draw people in just to mess with them for no reason. BUT if upset or angry, she is not above putting people through something truly harrowing.
If you would like to play with all this, please answer the following:
Is there any reason why this would absolutely not work on you? Things like poison immunity or lack of a need to breathe would both be reasons, for example.
What would draw your character in? A loved one? A beloved pet? Treasure? What would catch your character's attention so they couldn't help but follow?
What haunts your character? Regrets? Phobias? What is your character's WORST NIGHTMARE?
Do you, the player, have triggers or squicks I should mind? I LOVE writing really gnarly horror, but I don't want to make you uncomfortable! Please let me know if there's anything you want me to make sure I avoid! No judgement.

What haunts your character? Growing up without a dad ranks high as one of those things Alan has repressed as an issue and could use therapy for, gestures at the entirety of the Alan Wake games and the events within which you are very familiar with, and uh... Hm... I imagine while he was just painting word pictures in the AWE dlc because of being in The Dark Place I do think that peppering in some taken-Hartman and Thing-That-Was-Once-Hartman would be some fun horror. Mister Scratch and everything he represents is also definitely something that Haunts him but more existentially than just pure horror - his rage turned up to eleven, his flippant attitude, the poor decisions. Juicy stuff.
Do you, the player, have triggers or squicks I should mind? Uhhh, I mean you know me and my stuff but I don't think anything that really oofs me is gonna be relevant to this. All the ways I want Alan to be fucked with are not things that will ping my problems.
